Bwindi Impenetrable National Park is yet to get a new
Gorilla Tracking Site. According to the
Dairy Monitor this achievement is scheduled for April this year. This will be the fourth Gorilla Tracking site added on the already existing ones of Nkuringo, Buhoma and Ruhija. It is said that UWA
is doing this in order to increase the chances of tourists interested in tracking the almost extinct gentle giants. The new gorilla tracking site will be at Rushaga in Kisoro District where a
gorilla group has already been habituated (exposed to people) and is almost ready for tracking. According to Bwindi’s conservation Manager Mr. Tumwesigye, The demand for
gorilla trekking rwanda permits is increased therefore prompting the
introduction of a new tracking site.

However, before this site can start operating a few basic necessities such as
toilets and shelters need to be put up according to Mr. Tumwesigye. Just like in the other three destinations currently running, Buhoma, Ruhija and Nkuringo, at Rushaga it will be possible for
eight people to trek the
uganda gorillas daily. The number of people
tracking at Rushaga will be eight per day like with the other sites and the Gorilla permits for tracking at Rusaga will cost the same amount of US$500 for foreigners and 250,000/= for East
Africans. Once Rushaga is operational,

out of Bwindi’s 28 gorilla groups would have been opened to tourism. One more has been habituated for scientific purposes. This achievement is going to see a lot of benefits to the tourism industry
being that Gorilla tourism is carrying the banner of the most celebrated Green tourism activity in Uganda. There are a lot of clients who want to track Gorillas but because of the limited numbers
of permits many of these have always missed the chance but with this new site and the recently introduced Bitukura group, more tourists are going to get this chance to track.
